Policies, Required Equipment and Fees
The California Motorcyclist Safety Program Motorcyclist Training Course (CMSP MTC) is designed for the novice rider with no (or limited) street-riding experience. This course includes both classroom and on-cycle instruction. You will learn fundamental skills required to operate the motorcycle and progress to street riding skills and strategies.

Topics covered include controls, basic riding techniques, understanding how motorcycles turn, proper cornering strategies, and emergency crash avoidance skills. The course is based on the most current research in rider safety and utilizes modern training methods.

THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES THAT ANYONE WILL PASS THIS COURSE
This course is very demanding both physically and mentally. Coordination, balance, motor skill ability, age, language limitations and other physical abilities may limit an individual’s ability to ride and pass this class. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO BALANCE AND RIDE A BICYCLE. Established performance standards must be met for graduation. You must be able to control the clutch, throttle and direction of the motorcycle. Students who are a safety problem or unable to progress and meet the minimum standards of each exercise will be dismissed early from the class.
Though designed for new riders, any rider that has not taken a motorcycle course will benefit from this clinic. Motorcycles and helmets are provided in this course.
Physical Demands of the Course
Proper riding gear is REQUIRED by the State of California as follows.
1. A DOT approved helmet, ¾, full face, modular (No half helmets)
2. FULL FINGERED ALL LEATHER GLOVES or STREET SPECIFIC MOTORCYCLE GLOVES (Must be leather)
3. EYE PROTECTION including shields, sunglasses, goggles, or glasses
4. LONG SLEEVED SHIRT or jacket*
5. LONG PANTS preferably jeans or leather with no tears or holes*
6. BOOTS or shoes that cover the ankle with little or no heel
7. A Drivers License or a Permit or a Gov issued photo ID.
*Clothing must cover all skin while seated on the motorcycle.

Cost: Under 21 $350 21 and over $395 VISA - MASTERCARD - AMERICAN EXPRESS - DISCOVER
REFUND POLICY:
1. Fees are not refundable for ANY reason once the course begins.
2. Refunds and rescheduling must be requested at least 5 days prior to your class. Refunds requested less than 5 days prior to the class will be charged $300. There is no charge to reschedule or place your registration on hold.
3. A $25.00 charge will be deducted from all refunds.

Self drop from class..................................................Pay full amount again
Counseled out of class..............................................$300
Failed skills or written test.........................................No charge (test only)
Failed skills test/repeat all or part of class............... $250
CMSP rules requires any rescheduling to be done within 60 days of original class to receive discounted price.
After 60 days, the full amount will be charged to take the class again.
Failing either the written or skills test twice requires you to repeat the entire class at the full amount.
